A couple of designs for elements in the enviroment.
Initial sketch for the new Fridge design

Design Update - Change in Direction

After doing the initial modelling of our plesure pods we decided to go in a different direction. To do the Pleasure pods animation as well as we wanted, and to a standard we we're all happy with, would have taken longer then the briefs timeline so we decided to go in a different direction.
The animation will now be based in a kitchen, focusing on a glass fronted fridge. someone gets something from the fridge but the light doesn't switch off. So our character appears from the salad draw and has to manouver his way to the top of the fridge to get to the light off. Whilst it will have a realistic element to the design, it will still have the dreamier design style that we had originally agreed on for the first design.
This was a design for the interior of the above the water pod, influenced by the childrens game 'Screwball Scramble;
And also waterparks, especially ones containing flowriders:

Then redrafted the orignal design to make it more compact and to give a fantastical way to move, by making it a steam paddle boat for the skies.

This was the original design for our interactive club journey. The construction is made up of five pods, for earth, fire, above the water, below the water, and space, and a long wind tunnel for air.

This is a initial Maya rendering of the exterior of the Pleasure Pods.

Stills from the CocaCola TVC 'Happiness Factory'.

Still from 'Little Big Planet'.
This is a still from the children's series 'Trapdoor'. Its a source of inspiration for its colour pallette and its strong stylised approach.

Design Update

The concept for this project was to create an interactive dance experience venue, using as an influence the idea of the four elements, earth, fire, wind and water. The character will go on a journey through different pods of these elements, each with a different feel and musical experience.
The enviroment will be styalised, with a lot of the textures being cutouts of hand drawn illustrations. The exterior of the building is mechanical yet organic in its form.

So far completed, a colour design of the exterior of our venue, and initial modeling in Maya.

Having visited Daniel Server's house, our understanding of lighting and setting a scene has greatly improved. It was a enjoyable experience but would have been better at night, and also if we could have taken reference photos.
